"The Eucalyptus engineering team is currently preparing the next release of Eucalyptus (2.0) open source for summer 2010. This next version integrates new features into Eucalyptus, including S3 versioning, Virtio support, iSCSI support, and new administrator tools."
The FleSSR team is planning to update one of its Eucalyptus installations as soon as V2.0 will be released. S3 versioning and possibly the new administrator tools will be very important for our user cases.
A new cloud pilot project looking at utilising hybrid private-public IaaS cloud infrastructure to provide computational and data services to the academic research community. The project is a collaboration between the Oxford e-Research Center, IT Service @ University or Reading, e-Science Centre @ STFC, Eduserv, EoverI, Eucalyptus INC and Canonical Ltd.

The Project
Our project will create a hybrid public-private Infrastructure as a Service cloud solution for academic research. The two pilot use cases chosen follow the two university partners interests, software development and multi-platform support and on-demand research data storage space.
We will be implementing open standards for cloud management through the OGF Open Cloud Computing Interface.
